ISAAC is out.

ISAAC's first full length album is in production right now...in my living room.

The album artwork was designed by me and Andrew Wells, features a  pretty sick purple and gold fade on top of black cold-pressed water-board, stitched sides, and a handmade album leaf featuring the track-list.  Woooo, finally!

ISAAC - Two Are Confused tracklist is;
I Can't Wait To Give You Nightmares
A Little Smile On Your Face
1/20/2005
Driving Into
35E
Two Are Confused
I Wish It Was Gold
40W

There are 100 handmade, and, we made a couple (like 40) with two bonus tracks, hmmm, I am thinking we should ship those ones off to Japan...*wink wink*.

We are selling these for $7.o0USD at SXSW in a couple weeks, so be sure to swing by the American Apparel where I will be working with Viva Radio doing whatever, whatever.

Come back to us, Jane Birkin

In my never (ever, EVER) ending search for new, and amazing music I can't help but be a little frightened for the state of dance music.  Now, I am under the realization that good music can come from anywhere, but what the hell are they putting in the french water, or...what the hell are they putting in pastis over there?  I ignored it up until now, and "up until now" has been a pretty long time.  Now I had an itch for some quality dance music, so I searched myspace to see what could scratch my itch (and possibly make its way onto one of my playlist) when I stumbled upon what I always thought of as a pretty qualified, articulate, talented, and good-as-hell-with-production-value producer and "glitchy 80s horror pop" dance music maker going under the moniker "DANGER".  I had originally heard his named dropped at a Daft Punk show in Tokyo last winter and immediately did a search on him when I got home.  I was pretty impressed to say the least.  "Alien's are attacking, am in the jungle?!  This is terrifying!" but oh so good, and the production value was killer to say the least.  Ok, that's all good and well.  Now, back to his myspace, which I used as a database to dive into the world of "Danger/Kavinsky spin-off-wannabe's", They must recruit these guys fresh out of highschool, armed with a macbook and a love for the 80s (or is it a love for the bands that love the 80s?) I couldn't help but be overcome with a little sadness as I swam my way through the depths of  Giorgio Moroder's worst nightmares.  Long gone are the days of Daft Punk, where dance music was just fun, and a bit funky, bus still fucking cool as hell-actually...
....Dear France, please put your thinking caps on, stop drinking, stop smoking, no pastis, no stripes, no Eiffel Tower, for like, two seconds and start making cool-as-hell music again, make Daft Punk proud!  Please!  You get th privilage of using neon AFTER your music is amazing, I want timeless music!  I think and hope we all do!  Stop eating baguettes!  Stop downloading Reason and making an EP with an original, and, a Justice/MIA/Prince mash-up.  I just want killer, dance music.  Make me smash my head into the floor once more. France, please.

Ok, you can go back to wrinkling your nose and saying "but, of course" when I ask you a question like "Do you like the color green".
*Note* I love French people, It's just, I've been working with a lovably crazy French-man for the better part of the year, you know...c'mon-you know.  Gimme a break.

Since I am not one to banter negatively about anything and everything that might pop into my head, I will leave you with some sick remix's by two German DJ's known as MANDY,  start banging now...

Lemme talk about food for a second, food and music, mmmmm.  But right now it's just food.  A couple days ago, I conqured a recipe I've been wanting to make since I ate it, like, a year ago at Pure Food & Wine in NYC.  Raw Tacos.  I'm not going to post a recipe because I've already posted a somewhat altered recipe from 'Raw Food/Real World' and at this point you just have to go out and pick up the book.  I strongly recommend doing so.  I will, however, post a picture of what It looked like when I finished, and I am pretty proud of myself, to say the least.  Me and my girl devoured these in like five minutes.  Yum.

Remember that they are totally, 100% raw, and, made from scratch.  Shells and all.  Check.

45 Degrees, March, Normal

I was going to call this the "worst video by a somewhat promising young/new artist" but I will refrain from that drawn out award style title and just say this video is lame, I think the song is interesting, the vocals are pretty, etc.  But really all I DON'T need to see today is a swedish dude in short shorts and suspenders humping a door while a questionably swedish guy bangs away on seemingly silent piano (as there is no piano track in the song).    Shucks.

Her name is 'Lykke Li', she is from what I refer to 'The Land of Amazing Pop Music' more commonly known as Sweden, she sings girl back ups
for "Shout Out Louds", and she is going to blow the fuck up in the US (Just take a look at her SXSW schedule!). Also realize that her name
phonetically pronounced sounds out to be "Likely". Now see, the whole thing is just becoming a little to "cutsie-pie" for me...I JUST got over
the catastrophe that was 'Juno'. Oh, Juno, Don't get me started on Juno...and the Acadamy Awards?! Breathe...breathe...breathe...

...On the other hand here is a movie I have been waiting almost three years to finally come to fruition, at long last, it is. Check the trailer.

Song: The National - Slow Show

Not gonna say much about it except I have the highest expectations from David Gordon Green...if you need proof that this guy is one of the
most amazing directors alive you have to watch his first full length film 'George Washington'. Simple, beautiful, haunting, and all that stuff
that makes you feel. Texas really breeds a certain type with a lust for big beautiful images and simple, thoughtful script.

Four Tet is a talanted producer of electronic music if I may sound so bland this song is from his remix album which NEEDS to be checked out in its entirety, the whole album is dope, but there are some lush stand outs - Sia, Bloc Party, & Aphex Twin having the most lush tracks.  But the rest stays up to par with usual Four Tet happenings.  I posted the Bloc Party one, and listen for more on my upcoming Viva-Radio playlist this Thursday @ 11AM!  (Shameless plugs here and there never hurt, ok).

80 Degrees, March, Ok?

Ok so its like 80 degrees outside, it's March, I love it.  Fuck yes.  I just got finished making a BAD (bad as in GOOD) "Chunky Almond Fudge".  Yeah, its so nice.  For your information I eat a diet consisting of uncooked, unprocessed, raw, organic, vegan foods.  This shit is amazing let me tell you.  I can't get over how awesome I feel at all times of the day, I am ready for it all.  Life is good.  The food is even better.  I suggest trying out some of these recipes, your jaw will drop, it will, it will drop all the way to the floor, like, HARD.

PS:  I didn't make this, its from the amazing "Raw food/Real World" book by Matthew Kenney & Sarma Melngailis who own the restaurant and juice bar known as 'Pure Food & Wine' on E. 17th and Irving Pl. in crazy NYC.  If you go I recommend the Taco Salad, I ate nothing but this the last few days before I moved out of New York.  RIP.  One other thing, the "Official" recipe is called "Chewy Freezer Fudge" and I've altered just a few ingredients, so get the book if you are looking for the official one.  But my version is chunky nuts, literally.  It goes like:

2 Cups Chunky* Almond Butter (1 16oz Jar, basically).
1/3 Cup Carob Powder or Raw Cacao powder (I originally was turned off by carob's carmelish grainier taste, but realized the fudge is 110% nicer with carob as opposed to Cacao, try both and find out for youself, both are good.  Carob is less "intense" though.
1/2 Cup + 2 Tblsp. Maple Syrup (Shoot me, Maple Syrup is not even 1% raw because its been boiled at extreme temps to remove tree bark, ants, dirt and shit...so if you dont want that cool "yumm" tang of Maple Syrup, go for the raw option of Agave, use A LITTLE LESS THEN HALF A CUP OF AGAVE in that case, and make sure its true raw agave, got it!
1 Heaping Tblsp. Coconut Oil (Often times called Coconut Butter, its the same thing at different temps ie: Cool = butter/Warm = Oil)
2 Tblsp. 'Alc. Free' Vanilla Extract (Shoot me twice, cause this ain't raw either...infact, alot of it contains up to 35% alcohol and thats lame...use real vanilla bean, if not, use alcohol free organic vanilla extract.  Its out there, whole foods has it by the brand 'Frontier'.  If you are put off by this idea, just use the real thing.  It's a bit hard to convert the extract to beans, so start with 2 pods, mix it taste it and add more to taste)
1 Tsp. Coarse Sea Salt  (Sea Salt folks, NOT table salt.  NOT, NOT, NOT table salt.)

Get out a big mixing bowl, blend everything together with a big spoon and put it into a tray so that it is about 1/2" thick.  Freeze it.  Eat it!
***Make sure you dont leave this out or it will just turn into what you started with, only weirder looking***

Here are some pictures to reference, and a song to listen to while you chew on this out in the warm sun, or, bundled up in your warm residence.
